Afternoon tea is more than a meal – it’s a moment, an aesthetic, a pose. From dainty parlor events to modern-day bars, tea has created its own happy hour for millennia. Today, it offers the soul-restoring time-out we need in a busy world.

Whether you lean vintage or modern, whether you love a chatty teabag tag or prefer no-strings-attached, bestselling cookbook author Gail Greco has a wildly creative collection of tea-time ideas for you. Afternoon Tea Is the New Happy Hour includes easy-to-follow recipes for sandwiches, dips, scones, breads, cakes, and, of course – tea. This colorful guide includes tips on how to brew, blend, spice, and savor everything from mocktails after work to apple hibiscus tea paired with pizza cupcakes at the best tea-tasting party on the block.

As Gail eloquently reminds us, tea is the most popular and powerful beverage in the world. Sip by sip, tea delivers that breathe-easy, no-worries, soothing feel.
